We are proud to share our story… In the spring of 2004, our founding partners met for coffee. Throughout our conversation, we lamented about our similar experiences in trying to better balance our work and our families, irrespective of our varied professional backgrounds and diverse working hours. Throughout the years, we have heard the stories time-and-time again from our female friends and colleagues on how difficult it is to commute, do a great job at work, get ahead in a career, and simultaneously meet the needs of families. We realized on that day that we shared a passion in wanting to make a difference to ease the “time crunch” for working women.

We realized on that day-as we were sipping our coffee-that we shared a passion in wanting to make a difference to ease the "time crunch" for working women. We decided to focus on women initially, because we were surrounded by women who were finding it difficult to work within the structure of the "traditional workforce" and simultaneously tend to family needs. While most of these women do not have a choice to work or not, we knew that with 21st century technologies there was a better way. Not only did it quickly become obvious to us that something powerful was brewing, but we knew we had to do something about it…so Choose 2 Lead Women's Foundation was born.

Today, with clearer vision, we realize that a new work paradigm must be created and be firmly established to accommodate the changing workforce. The one-size-fits-all workweek paradigm must be replaced to optimize today's diverse workforce. Flexibility in where and when work is conducted is a win-win solution for employers and employees alike. We know that our role in this foundation is to provide workers of all demographics with the proper tools (through our research, education, and trainings), and then challenge them to make responsible and proactive choices. We believe that through our energy, we can lead organizations, employers and employees to a better quality of life, which will in turn, lead to a more productive workplace and society. We see a world that can be improved as more women and men, armed with information, take it upon themselves to lead their lives to the best possible outcome in their work, families, and communities.
